Altwood Church of England School

Altwood Church of England School

About the school

Our Mission is to be a high achieving learning community based on Gospel values, where all feel valued and secure, all are enabled to fully develop, progress and attain and all fulfil their academic and personal potential.

Our school is one where:

  • Standards of excellence are promoted and achieved in all areas of school life;
  • Students receive an holistic and challenging education;
  • Students become life-long and independent learners;
  • There exists a harmonious, aesthetic and well resourced environment;
  • Staff are highly trained professionals who constantly endeavour to improve further on already high standards.

Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College is a thriving, highly successful, high achieving and very popular learning community. Together, students, parents and staff of Altwood have achieved great things.
Year-on-year we have gone from strength to strength. Examination results are very impressive – 71.4% of students achieving 5 or more A* – C grades at GCSE this summer and ‘A’ Level students achieving a 100% pass rate.

When you visit I feel you will immediately be able to identify what the essence of our school community is. Excitement about learning, enjoying academic challenge, focus on the individual, striving together for excellence and a strong Church School ethos will, I trust, be what is instantly evident.

We expect the best from all our pupils – expect them to do their best so as to be the best. In turn we promise them the best educational experience they can possibly have. At Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College we have highly expert, experienced and committed staff who ensure that all pupils are enabled to realise our school’s motto of ‘Aspire & Achieve’.

When a child joins our school community we engage in a partnership and embark upon a journey. The home-school partnership is crucial to each child’s success, thus this is something we take much care to nurture and develop. The journey we begin together will be one spanning many years and will see your child leave their childhood and become young adults. At Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College we appreciate the significance of our responsibility when families become part of our community and entrust their child to our care. Due to the Christian values upon which our community is founded, we believe we are able to provide a rich, focused and balanced context within which young people are enabled to learn and excel not only academically, but also in respect of their spiritual, cultural and social development.
