Furze Platt Junior School
About the school
We would like to warmly welcome you and your children to Furze Platt Junior School. We are part of the newly-formed Furze Platt Primary Federation – the details of which can be accessed via our Federation tab on our home page (FPPF).
Our School admits children from the age of seven (predominantly from the adjacent Furze Platt Infant School, our Federation partner) until eleven, when they will transition into Year 7.
We believe that children should experience a school that lets them build special and happy memories and we value highly the positive relationships we have built between children, parents, staff, governors and our neighbouring communities.
Children get one chance with their education and at Furze Platt Junior we want this to be the best. There is a driving determination to ensure that pupils in the school reach their full potential, leaving with the key skills that they need to give them the best start to the next stage of their education journey. Creativity through enrichment activities such as dance, drama, sports, school visits and musical opportunities are a core element of our curriculum which aims to enthuse, challenge and inspire the children.
As a school, learning is celebrated and openly admired. All children deserve the opportunity to experience success and with it, celebrating their achievements in and out of school.
We have a lot to be proud of at Furze Platt Junior, including our Ofsted Outstanding judgement (December 2018). We have well-resourced, spacious rooms and attractive surroundings. The school grounds have been developed to support learning, providing an inspiring and safe environment for all children to enjoy. The school is a happy, stimulating and caring place and we expect high standards of behaviour and good manners throughout the school.
We would be pleased to show you around Furze Platt Junior School for you to feel the friendly atmosphere here, giving you the opportunity to meet the staff and see the children as they work and play together.
