Holy Brook School
About the school
Holy Brook School is a small special school located in Southcote Reading which caters for up to 32 pupils with an Education Health Care Plan for Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. A number of our children also have additional needs such as learning difficulties or Autism. We are a Nurturing school supporting pupils to achieve their potential in an inclusive learning environment. We aim to remove the barriers to learning that pupils may have previously encountered.
Our team work hard to build positive trusting relationships with our pupils. We use first names and we recognise that all pupils’ behaviour has meaning and respond to behaviours in a consistent and considered way. Our staff work together to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that provides high expectations for all our children.
We hold the Investor in People award and Basic skills quality mark and pride ourselves in our commitment to induction, professional development and on-going support to all our staff. In 2016 we won the Pride of Reading, school of the year category.
Working at Holy Brook School can be challenging but is extremely rewarding. The impact we can have on such young lives is really significant and so it is a real privilege to work in an environment with a dedicated staff team, supportive parents and carers and an effective Governing Body.
