Oak Wood School is looking to appoint Academic Tutors to support with the curriculum provision for our pupils in either English, Mathematics or Science. The role would ideally suit a graduate who has a strong academic background in one of these subjects and is possibly thinking of training to become a teacher in the future. This is a very exciting time to join our community as the Academic Tutor team is expanding to meet our commitments to support all members of our community to achieve success. The successful candidate will be patient, reliable and sensitive to the needs of our pupils. You will show an enthusiasm and commitment to supporting learning. A good sense of humour and an ability to work as part of a close-knit team is essential.

The role will tutoring small groups of pupils to help them achieve academic success. You will work closely with the Head of Department and teachers to support pupils to make progress in their learning. Subject related qualifications or experience would be desirable and there are clear progression routes for the right applicants.

Oak Wood School was recently judged as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted (May 2022) and is truly inclusive, mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school that embraces all aspects of comprehensive education. The curriculum is well balanced and reflects the needs of all our students and the local community.
