Description

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our highly effective SEND department in the role of Administrator (SEN). As a team we are passionate about levelling the playing field and ensuring that all students are given the chance to achieve their potential, irrespective of their additional needs or disabilities.

We work really closely with our 15 EHCP students and an SEN register that is 14% of the academy population. With the ever more complicated SEN landscape we are looking for someone who shares our passion and has the tenacity to ensure that we get the very best for our young people and their families. We firmly believe that all of our students can become STEM professionals for a future global market!

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team and will bring knowledge and experience of the referral systems that operate with our partners such as CAMHS and the Local Authority SEN team. The candidate will be willing to support parents and carers with referrals and have the knowledge to do this.

The ability to run a club or intervention would be a benefit, but we are willing to train the right candidate in an area of need to support this.

The Leigh UTC is a very special place to work and pre-application visits are both encouraged and welcomed.

Essential skills:

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with outstanding attention to detail

This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of £18,923 per annum (£22,001 full time equivalent)based on 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week of inset.

Curriculum is king and we do things a little differently to other schools or colleges because we believe the most effective way to educate our students is to make our learning more hands-on. With the International Baccalaureate Middle Years programme (MYP) at KS3, GCSEs at KS4, and A-levels, T-levels and the International Baccalaureate Careers Programme (IBCP) at KS5, our ambitious curriculum offer caters for choice, leading the vast majority of students into STEM-related careers or courses.
