Are you ready for the next step in your teaching career? Are you seeking a new opportunity for January 2023 that offers progression? Would you thrive in our supportive and highly successful department? The Leigh Academy has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a great practitioner of English to join us in the role of Coordinator of Learning - English for the department. With the responsibility to deputise for the Director of Learning and oversee a Key Stage, this is a fantastic position which will enable you to develop your leadership skills.

The English Learning Area’s aim at The Leigh Academy is to develop skills, confidence and a love of English language and literature. This will enable our students to express themselves creatively and imaginatively and become effective communicators on a global stage. Therefore, our successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to academic excellence and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students.

​​​​​​​Our newly appointed candidate will be joining an established and experienced English department, both in terms of the teaching and support, giving you great access to a range of resources. Our strong team is incredibly proud of recent exam results which are above the national average results at KS4 and we are also increasing our cohort at KS5.

The role is a permanent, full time opportunity offering MPS/UPS + London Fringe Allowance + TLR2a £3,201.

​​​​​Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2022, our Trust comprises 30 geographically organised academies (14 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider. ​​​​​​​
