Description

Following the internal promotion of our existing post holder we are looking to appoint a passionate and experienced teacher who is keen to take the next steps in their career. You will lead the Technology Department to build upon their existing success and ensure that our track record for good results at GCSE can be secured for future cohorts of our students.

The DT and Food department have had ongoing investment and benefits from a stable and experienced staff, including a full-time technician. The curriculum has been designed with skills and knowledge at the forefront and students are enthusiastic about what they learn. Curriculum evolution is part of the ethos and developing schemes of work, projects and assessment and feedback is a collaborative process. We have a laser cutter, 3D printer, traditional machinery and hand tools, which allow students a full range of access to the wide aspects of learning within the subject areas.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.

We were recently inspected in November 2022, which was a positive experience for the school and we are looking forward to sharing the report as soon as it is available.

For an informal talk about the role and department or to arrange to visit the department please contact HR by email hr@thamesmead.surrey.sch.uk or phone 01932 219 423.

Closing date: 9am, Monday 30 January 2023.

Thamesmead School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to demonstrably share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Only registered members can apply for jobs.
