The School employs more than 170 staff, of whom 50% are academic staff, and provides a stimulating, friendly and supportive atmosphere in which each pupil can realise his or her full intellectual, physical, and creative potential.

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Deputy Bursar to join our Bursary team to provide seamless support to the Bursar, as well as act independently, to ensure there is efficient and compliant management of day-to-day operations at the School.

In this truly cross-functional role you will manage our premises, take responsibility for events across the school calendar, managing our facilities, health and safety, lettings, insurance, suppliers and services in both a hands-on and delivering through others capacity.

The ideal candidate will have extensive management and leadership experience, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; be able to effectively plan and organise their own demanding workload and manage their direct reports to do so as well; use their own initiative to deliver on time critical tasks.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week from 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday with a 30-minute break for lunch. You will be entitled to 25 days’ paid holiday per year, plus public holidays.

On occasions the role will entail work during evenings and weekends to support internal and external School events.

Reading Blue Coat offers an exceptional working environment and an attractive rewards package, including excellent benefits such as a pension scheme with 8% employer contribution; free meals; extensive staff discounts; tax saving cycle to work and car leasing schemes; free sports and leisure facilities; Employee Assistance Programme; and a strong commitment to professional development.
