As well as teaching a standard timetable allocation (currently around 36 lessons of 55 minutes in a twelve day timetable cycle) we will rely on you to participate in off-timetable workshops, extension programmes, pre-university seminars, competitions, student support, and so on. Marking examinations, attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the Head of Department – all are aspects of a role that will see you enhance the quality of teaching and learning and play an active part in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of the College.
To succeed, you will need a good level degree in a directly related subject and thorough knowledge of the subject curriculum across the full 13-18 age range. Well-organised, energetic and self-motivated, you have a sharp and progressive vision of the subject and a proven ability to quickly build a positive rapport with pupils. What’s more, you are a dedicated team player who is smart and professional in appearance, strives for excellence, committed to boarding school life and willing to get involved in extra-curricular activities like sports and school trips.
