We seek to appoint a well-qualified and experienced HCPC Clinical / Counselling Psychologist and/or Accredited CBT Therapist to cover a maternity absence from December 2022 until October 2023 initially, an exact start date is subject to negotiation during the interview. This role is part time and the successful candidate will work alongside the Lead Resident Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, providing qualified mental health expertise and advice to teachers and parents; to offer training and provide resources to pupils, staff and parents to help prevent mental health issues arising and to secure wellbeing; and to provide the necessary referrals to the right professionals both via the school’s own counselling service and/or beyond school where necessary.
The appointed person will be a visible presence in school and known to all the staff and girls as an approachable expert. The successful candidate will be approachable and empathetic, but also pragmatic in responding to the needs of individual students and liaising with staff and parents to create a team of practitioner, parent and school as a supportive and trusted network around the girl.
