Thank you for your interest in working at Thamesmead School, you will be part of a highly successful Humanities team. This is a temporary, part time role (2 or 3 days per week) to cover maternity leave, however there may be opportunities for a contract extension or other roles within the school. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate good knowledge of History and the ability to contribute to another curriculum area would be advantageous e.g. PE.

History is popular throughout the school and is a regular Key Stage 4 option. The successful individual will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further the standards of teaching and learning. You will be a team player with a clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments. The post is suitable for an ECT or a more experienced colleague.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.

Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2019 our students gained strong GCSE results. 85% of students gained a 4 grade or higher in English and Maths and 58% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. 83% achieved 5 GCSEs or more graded at 4 or above. Strong leadership aims to ensure that the school provides the best possible standards of teaching and learning."- Ofsted.
