Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for a practical, well-organised and self-motivated team player to join our Domestic Services department as a House Matron.
The Matron role is one of the most diverse and rewarding positions in the boarding house. Working within a team, you will be responsible for assisting with the pastoral, social and medical care of the boarders in the house and involved with the planning and administration of day to day life along with managing the domestic side of the boarding house – these are just some aspects of this multi-faceted role.
The role would suit someone with a caring and supportive nature, a ‘can-do’ attitude and a good understanding of the challenges faced by teenagers living away from home. Previous experience of boarding is not required, but the ability to quickly adapt to the environment will be essential.
You will need a good general secondary education and well-developed English language skills.
Familiar with safeguarding requirements and good practice within an educational setting, you have excellent attention to detail, a good level of numeracy and competent computer skills. What’s more, you are enthusiastic, great at engaging with colleagues, visitors and pupils, have excellent problem solving skills and are flexible over working patterns.
Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it comes with a generous salary and benefits package too. So, if you are smart and professional in appearance, keen to learn and committed to contributing towards a College community, apply today.
Closing date: 6.00pm on 21 May 2021
