The School employs over 180 staff, of whom 50% are academic staff. We provide a stimulating, friendly and supportive atmosphere in which each pupil can realise his or her full intellectual, physical, and creative potential.

We have a Degree Apprenticeship opportunity, to start as soon as possible, for a bright IT enthusiast who will train and work under the guidance of a small, highly experienced professional IT team, who ensure the effective operation and development of the School’s technical services including network, hardware, software, and telecoms.

Whilst earning a good salary, you’ll study towards a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions degree

at the University of Winchester for one day a week, with course fees paid by us, and spend the other four days each week developing your career at Reading Blue Coat.

Candidates must have an interest in computers and networks and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications. You will have an enthusiasm to learn; be hard working with high attention to detail and a focus on quality; a good team worker but capable of working independently; and a desire to work with young people and develop effective working relationships with both academic and operational staff.

To be eligible for the degree programme you will need GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and Science (at Grade 5 and above), and A Levels or equivalent that meet 104 UCAS points from attainment of 3 A Levels (or equivalent) (at Grade C or above).

The School provides a stimulating and vibrant environment in which to learn, and you will join a highly committed and enthusiastic IT team in an educational setting where the emphasis is on achieving excellence in all that we do.

We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, professional career development, and subsidised accommodation may be available on campus if required.
