Description

Seaford has an exciting new vacancy for a Pastoral Support & Wellbeing Assistant.

This interesting role is available from September 2024. It is full time 8:30-5:30 term time only 34 weeks per annum. 

A member of the school’s Pastoral Team, located in our Pastoral and Wellbeing Hub, No.46, with the responsibility for supporting the delivery of pastoral care and wellbeing of the students. The role is an evolving one, combining pastoral and safeguarding administration with direct student support.

Key Responsibilities
Student Support

  • Supporting the whole-school approach towards wellbeing, curriculum, and pastoral support, and compassionate and professional liaison with stakeholders including students and parents.
  • Supporting the identification of students at risk of, or showing signs of, mental health/wellbeing concerns.
  • Assisting and establishing good relationships with parents/carers and, where appropriate, encouraging active involvement in the development of support plans.
  • Supporting the delivery of interventions for students.
  • Assisting staff in contact with students requiring mental health and wellbeing support/advice.
  • Working closely with staff to monitor student’s behaviours, relationships, development, and happiness throughout the school year.
  • As part of the Pastoral Team, supporting the induction of new staff regarding pastoral care and wellbeing.
  • Supporting the development of the PSHE/RSE programme in school.
  • Providing supervision/arrangements of students excluded from, or otherwise not working to, their normal school timetable.
  • As part of the Pastoral Team, engaging with parents on pastoral themes.
  • Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team – being a team player and highly flexible in approach.
  • Any other reasonable request made by the Director of Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Resilience.
