We are currently seeking a PE Coach to support the delivery of PE sessions, extra-curricular activities, duties, clubs and fixtures in our primary school. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sport and have experience of coaching and motivating young people to achieve the best they can. Experience of coaching a sports team would be advantageous.

Hinchley Wood Primary School is a located on the borders of south west London, with 620 pupils from Reception to Year 6. The school is part of the Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership, which includes Hinchley Wood School located on the same site.

Sport has a strong visual presence in the school which is recognised and celebrated at all key stages. We have two all-weather surfaces areas and two additional hard surface areas for tennis or netball. The secondary school playing fields, adjacent to our site, accommodate two football pitches and one rugby pitch in the winter, and a 400m track, long jump and high jump areas, three rounders pitches and a softball pitch in the summer. Hinchley Wood Primary School has access to these areas on an agreed timetable.

We work closely with the secondary school coaches to deliver high quality PE sessions for our primary school pupils. The dedicated staff work as a strong team and meet with the primary staff in order to share plans and resources. The PE coach would be required to work in participation with the current team, supporting the delivery of PE sessions with the current coaches as well as leading their own sessions with pupils in the primary school.

The role is required for 35 hours per week during term time only, Monday to Friday, essentially between 8.30am to 4:30pm, although flexibility is required as some days will start later and some finish later, to accommodate and run clubs out of school hours. The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate.

This is a new role and offered on a fixed term basis for one year in the first instance. We are looking for good leadership and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a supportive team. A current, clean driving licence would be advantageous.
