We are seeking to expand our music support team by recruiting a Peripatetic Music Tutor with a piano specialism.​​​​​​​

The successful candidate will have a passion for helping students to develop their talent and confidence in music! The peripatetic tutor will teach groups/ individual students at all levels and prepare them for practical exams where appropriate, ensuring to cover all elements of the exams process.

We also expect peripatetic tutors to take responsibility for student registers, tracking/reporting progress and supporting students in achieving targets that are set out each term. The role will naturally include administrative duties, therefore, please consult the job description for a full list of responsibilities.

You will be employed directly by the academy on an hourly rate, as per the normal working nature of this role and the hours/days per week can be negotiated depending on the successful candidate's availability. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis so early applications are encouraged. This is a part time role offering £28p/h, on a 'Paid on Claim' basis.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2022, our Trust comprises 30 geographically organised academies (14 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
