About the role: Milestone Academy has a fantastic opportunity for a committed and motivated Premises Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our collaborative team as soon as possible. Our successful candidate will be joining an experienced Site team and helping to provide effective operation, maintenance, cleaning and security of the Academy’s buildings, grounds and plants. We make a massive difference and enable the students to gain their full potential through providing the best environment possible.

Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally you will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic training opportunities so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be up-skilled or trained.

This permanent, part-time position which offers an actual salary of £10,981 per annum (FTE £19,799) based on 25 hours per week, Term Time Only. Please be aware that interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis, therefore, we strongly encourage early applications.

About Milestone Academy: Milestone Academy is a large special school for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex needs, and is part of Leigh Academies Trust.  We currently have 385 pupils on roll aged between the ages of 2 and 19. The academy comprises a main site and four satellite provisions, each of which are based within other LAT mainstream academies. Milestone Academy has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted at our last three inspections.​​​​​​​

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2021, our Trust comprises 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
