Description

Permanent or maternity cover required

The school seeks to appoint a resident matron to support in one of our senior (year eight to twelve) boarding houses and in our upper sixth boarding house.

The role of resident matron is a very important one, both in the boarding community and in the school as a whole; the resident matron may be one of the first members of staff a parent meets and will be heavily involved in caring for their child. The housemistress/housemaster  and resident matron act in loco parentis, especially when parents are abroad or live a distance from the school.

St Swithun’s is a popular and successful selective girls’ school committed to developing innovative teaching and learning; open communication with parents and being a tolerant, kind and supportive community in which every pupil feels able to try new challenges without fear of failure. St Swithun’s is proud to be a High Performance Learning school and a member of the Fellowship of World Class Schools.

Our successful candidate should be calm, flexible and have experience of working with young people.

Applications will be considered as soon as they are received so please apply without delay.

Closing date: 9am, 16 May 2022.

Further details of the post are available from or Mrs. Rachel Nicholls, executive assistant or 01962 835701.

St Swithun’s is a registered charity providing education for boys and girls and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff are expected to share and support this commitment and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
