Wycombe Abbey has been at the forefront of girls’ education for the last 125 years. We provide a comprehensive 24-hour healthcare service to our pupils. This includes a school counselling service focused on the mental health and resilience of all pupils, and staff, including those considered at risk and those with additional needs.
We currently have a vacancy for a part time School Counsellor who will provide a comprehensive counselling service focused on the mental health and resilience of all pupils, including those considered at risk and those with additional needs. You will employ and develop a range of therapeutic interventions to encourage confidence, independence, reflection and resilience in young people, whilst supporting them with individual needs. Reporting to the Director of Safeguarding and Pupil Welfare, you will work in partnership with senior pastoral staff to assist with the further development of a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing of pupils.
Our School Counsellors play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the girls at Wycombe Abbey.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with teenagers and will have significant experience of counselling young people. Previous experience in a school role is desirable but not essential. Applicants should hold a current accreditation with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
