The Governing Body of The Wellington Primaries Academy are seeking additional governors.
The Wellington Primaries Academies are formed of two ambitious, growing, and inclusive 4-11 Primary schools. Wellington Eagles and Wellington Lions are based on the edge of the beautiful Salisbury Plain and serve the families of Tidworth and Ludgershall area, both schools are proud members of the Ascend Learning Trust.
We currently have close to 300 students on roll in a mixture of 1 and 2 form entry classes, with potential to grow to full capacity of 420 pupils.
Governors are responsible for ensuring the clarity of direction of The Wellington Primaries Academy, holding the Headteacher to account for educational performance, and overseeing the priorities of the school.
Governors are required to attend six Governing body meetings a year, one per term. Meetings are normally on Tuesday, with a start time of 9.00am, and last approximately 2 hours. Governors are also expected to make occasional visits to the school, for example to attend an evening Awards ceremony or musical evening. There are also opportunities during the day to take part in meetings with the senior leadership team to find out more about the work of the school.

If previous employment has included working with children, then at least one referee must be from this employment, regardless of whether this is the current or most recent employment, any gaps in employment must be detailed and an explanation provided in the relevant section.
