Furze Platt is a highly successful mixed comprehensive school serving the children of Maidenhead. At Furze Platt, 1400 students of all abilities develop the skills and qualities to enable them to excel in the future.  We are a highly ambitious, high-achieving and fully inclusive school in which our students are challenged and supported to achieve excellence.

This role involves working with a team of science technicians providing support to science teachers as directed by the Assistant Lead and Lead Technician.  With guidance and training you would prepare resources and equipment for practical lessons following Cleapss (safety) guidelines.  You would also help to clear away after lessons, replenish stock and report any problems in relation to practical work to more senior members of the technician team. You would undertake basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment, assist with safety checks and support with the care of any livestock in the department.  The job is varied and involves lots of teamwork with the opportunity to learn new skills and progress towards the more in-depth preparation of resources and practical materials required in a particular science subject.

We are interested in hearing from anyone who has  gained some experience working in a laboratory or in an educational environment. An ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as having good verbal and written communication skills are key.

If you enjoy working in an environment where teamwork is important, and you are ready to embrace the idea that no two days in a school are the same then we would love to hear from you.
