Description

‘You have a package of staff training and support with a clear focus on developing and sharing first rate teaching and learning’ (Ofsted)

We are looking to appoint a Learning Resource Centre Assistant to join our sixth form team. This role is instrumental in creating an environment to promote a love of reading, enhancing the learning of every student, in every class.

Within our Trust, we believe there is no ceiling to achievement for our children or our teachers. We are dedicated to growing our young people into broad minded, critical thinking and confident adults. The successful candidate will help us to encourage our students to learn through reading to develop our students into knowledgeable, articulate and confident adults.

At The Langley Academy our state-of-the-art facilities, provide the backdrop to our success. We have two libraries for our secondary and 6th form, both of which are spacious, open plan and stocked with an abundance of books.

As one of our staff recently said: “We provide experiences to our whole school community, you simply don’t get anywhere else”

The ideal candidate will be keen to challenge young people with opportunities they may not have known existed. We aim to raise student’s aspirations, so they begin to believe in themselves and understand that there is nothing holding them back.

This is a key position that requires confidentiality, flexibility, accuracy, and a desire to read. You must be comfortable in dealing with people from all backgrounds and have a great deal of common sense and initiative. You will need to be well organised, patient, and able to prioritise effectively. Your command of the English language (written and oral) is essential.

One of the many advantages of working at The Langley Academy is that our staff enjoy a shorter day on Friday, part of our wider approach to supporting employee health and wellbeing. In addition, we have access to private healthcare, support from our wellbeing team and we provide you with the help, support and resources you need to develop, including enhanced additional funding from our sponsor.

If you wish to be considered for the post, all information is available on the school website.

If you would like further information or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Tara Mackay, PA to the Headteacher and HR Lead.

Closing date: 9.00am, Tuesday 6 December 2022

The Langley Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All appointments are subject to an enhanced clear DBS check. The trust reserves the right to appoint ahead of the deadline.
