Description

Mary Hare School for the deaf is a specialist school located in beautiful countryside grounds in Newbury, Berkshire. There is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our private therapy venture as Lead Therapist delivering Speech and Language therapy. The aim is to offer speech therapy to the local community and beyond. Working closely alongside the school Speech and Language therapy team, the Lead Therapist for the private business will benefit from joining a close and highly experienced team, while still having the benefits of making their own mark on a new and exciting clinical service.

The post:

Mary Hare is looking to appoint a full time Speech and Language Therapist to join their new business venture - Mary Hare Therapy Centre. The successful candidate will be the Lead Speech Therapist delivering the therapy, workshops and group sessions to the public. They will also work closely with our Business Manager to ensure the business objectives are being met.

  • ​This is a permanent appointment.
  • Full time all year round, 37hrs per week.
  • The applicant must have experience of working with a varied caseload.
  • Experience in working with paediatrics is essential.
  • No specific training/experience in hearing impairment is required.
  • The role involves taking a proactive lead in marketing and identifying sources of revenue.

  • Regular CPD opportunities such as CEN, journal club and training.
  • Supervision and mentoring sessions.
  • Opportunities for individual and group therapy at either the Therapy Centre or within local schools.

  • Support is provided by an administrative assistant based in the therapy centre.
