The role

Managed by the Director of Sport, we are looking to recruit a Graduate Sports Assistant to support the PE department in delivering high quality teaching and learning, in both the curriculum and co-curriculum. The main responsibility will be to provide practical support, whilst gaining valuable experience of working in the education sector.

A proven ability in either Lacrosse or Netball is essential and experience in coaching or officiating would be advantageous.

Single (shared) accommodation is provided and meals during term time. You will be expected to be involved in activities outside of timetabled lessons and sports sessions plus play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school, which will include agreed evenings per week and weekend duties.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident to coach at least one sport to a high level.
  • Assist in coaching and officiating at two sports, leading teams and officiating matches mid-week and on Saturdays.
  • Support the Heads of Netball and Lacrosse with team organisation and management.
  • Assisting with planning and preparation of PE.
  • Supervise pupils during sports fixtures, tournaments and trips.
  • Be on duty in school boarding houses, assisting Housemistresses and providing pastoral care.
