Description

We are looking for a full-time Teacher of Computer Science to join a highly successful department at this major London day school.

UCS is a leading academic school with a distinctive ethos and an enviable reputation for pastoral work as well as for sport, music, drama and other co-curricular activities. The Computer Science Department comprises three teachers, including the Head of Computer Science.

The subject is a popular Year 9 and GCSE option, with around 170 pupils across this age range. At A level we are growing; currently there is one Computer Science set in Year 13 and two Computer Science sets in Year 12.

The successful applicant will join a successful and supportive department and will be passionate about teaching and learning across our age and ability range, including A level. We expect to appoint a teacher who combines a strong intellect with an imaginative and flexible approach to classroom teaching, who is wise and sensitive in their planning of lessons and rigorous and friendly in their delivery. The ability to also teach Mathematics would be preferable.

Applications are welcome from experienced and newly-qualified teachers. UCS offers a statutory induction programme for NQTs and its own salary scale which is well above that of the maintained sector. Applications from those without a formal teaching qualification will also be considered.

Please visit our website and click apply now to down load an application form and send your completed copy to recruitment@ucs.org.uk

The closing date for applications is 12pm, Thursday 20 January 2022.

Please note that we reserve the right to interview candidates before the stated closing date; we would therefore welcome early applications.

UCS is fully committed to the safeguarding of children. All applicants for this post must be prepared to undergo child protection screening.
