We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic Teacher of English to join an innovative and energetic department. The Department is well-resourced and strives to stimulate a love of literature and writing through creative teaching, competitions, clubs and societies and visiting speakers. Among many other events, there are annual residential trips to Chiddingstone Castle Literary Festival with junior boys and to the Lake District with senior students to study the Romantics. You will have the freedom to select your own age-related teaching texts and develop your own schemes of work within the set syllabus.

Applicants should be able to teach across the age range up to GCSE and A Level. IB teaching could be available for the right candidate. The post is as suitable for experienced teachers as it is for those new to the profession, who would participate in our highly regarded Schools Direct programme. A proactive culture of supporting and developing talented and inspiring teachers is supported by the Senior Management Team.

Staff will be encouraged to contribute fully to the co-curricular life of the School and this is reflected in the salary offered. A strong commitment to the pastoral and house system is also anticipated. Accommodation may be available. Assistance is offered towards removal expenses etc., up to £1,000 in total.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
