The Halley Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Teacher of Music to join us from January 2024. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Music across the Key Stages and will be creative, innovative, efficient and committed to raising standards. They will have excellent subject knowledge and join a highly motivated team of superbly collaborative teachers committed to a creative and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, and to instilling a passion for Music in our students.
We are looking for a highly ambitious team-player to join our dynamic team of passionate and engaging teachers. We have a superb teaching and peripatetic music team who have a wealth of music industry experience and a well equipped music department.
Get to know our department…
- Our exam board for KS4 Music is currently BTEC Tech Award Music Practice with the intention of introducing Eduqas in the future;
- We work on cloud based DAW SoundTrap and online sequencers;
- We offer vocal, drum kit/percussion, brass and piano instrumental lessons;
- We offer both BTEC Tech Award Music Practice for Key Stage 4 students;
- A number of our students leave us to study music as a higher education option;
- A number of our students perform locally at music venues and festivals;
- We have a number of concerts each year with a large number of students from all year groups including Summer/Winter concert and exam group concerts;
- We are looking to expand our provision into KS5 with the RSL Level 3 award.

This is a permanent, full time position offering MPS/UPS + Inner London allowance.
