Description

Open to ECTs, full-time, part-time or job share

Our PE team has set an outstanding example to our students in promoting the benefits of a healthy body and mind. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of PE to join our energetic PE team and help us continue shaping this vision.

We pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art PE equipment and facilities, along with the variety of ways we introduce sport, exercise, and a healthy way of life to our students. This variety and our successful enrichment lessons introduce our students to sports they may not have otherwise considered.

Our PE teaching is supported by:

  • Extensive outdoor spaces.
  • A professional 3G pitch (FIFA Quality Pro Surface, one of only a handful in the region).
  • Multi use Games Area (MUGA).
  • Indoor multi-purpose sports hall recently refurbished and remarked with the most up to date markings possible for indoor sports.
  • Onsite Gym for staff use and student lessons.
  • State-of-the-art rowing machines which complement our fleet of outdoor rowing boats - supporting our successful Rowing programme with multiple awards for both indoor and outdoor crews.
  • Ten Table tennis tables.
  • Central atrium to promote indoor team sports (rowing and table tennis challenges).

Whether you are new to teaching or have had years of experience, we welcome applications from colleagues at all stages of their career. We are an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming school community with dedicated staff and a supportive leadership team who are committed to supporting and developing individual needs.

We believe there is no ceiling to achievement for our students or our teachers. With genuine enthusiasm and knowledge of your subject, you will share our commitment to providing an exceptional education to every student. You will have good interpersonal skills, evidence of effective behaviour management and an ability to inspire students. We aim to inspire and equip students to reach their potential by enhancing students' confidence and achievement and believe PE plays an important part in building these skills.

One of the many advantages of working at The Langley Academy is our short Fridays so you can start your weekend early, part of our wider approach to supporting health and wellbeing. In addition, we provide you with the help, support, and resources you need to develop, including enhanced additional funding from our sponsor.
