We are looking to recruit an outstanding teacher to join our highly successful and supportive Science department.

We have recently spent £250k refurbishing and re-equipping three of our labs as well as building a new one.

You will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further standards of teaching and learning across the department plus developing a love of Science through discovery and practical investigations. You will be a team player with a clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments. In the Science department we have established units of work for each year group; please see the school website for details of the Science curriculum. We strive to facilitate manageable workload by sharing planning, resources and best practice, and by ensuring that any assessment, feedback and ‘marking’ is only carried out where it is essential to the progress of our learners and never just for the sake of it.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.

Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2022 for Biology 98% of students achieved a 9-4 grade, in Chemistry 96% achieved a 9-4 grade and in Physics 96% achieved a 9-4 grade.
