Description

We are looking to appoint a passionate and inspirational teacher who is keen to take the next steps in their career and make a real difference secondary teacher.

Modern Foreign Languages is one of our strongest subjects with GCSE value added scores in 2023 being over a whole grade higher than predicted. Following our OFSTED inspection of November 2022 one of our key strategic development targets for the school is to increase the numbers of students studying languages at Key Stage 4. We have an ambitious plan to achieve this and are looking to recruit a talented and creative teacher of languages who will educate the linguists of the future.

Our MFL staff are a wonderful collaborative team that work hard on shared resources and providing a broad range of opportunities for students to expand their learning.

At Thamesmead we teach Spanish and French to KS3 and 4.

What can we offer you?

  • An excellent CPD package for staff.
  • Opportunities for growth and real career development.
  • Full support from a dedicated and visible team of senior leaders and pastoral managers.
  • Employee Assistance Scheme provided by Health Assured - unlimited access to advice, information and face to face counselling support on a range of issues including emotional, personal, legal and financial or relationship issues for yourself and those living within your household.
  • A meaningful approach to staff wellbeing which includes a variety of staff benefits from access to cycle to work and electric car schemes to discounted membership to our onsite gym and free parking.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.

"Pupils behave well, are co-operative and respectful towards their teachers and each other. Strong leadership aims to ensure that the school provides the best possible standards of teaching and learning."- Ofsted.
