Description

William Perkin Church of England High School, Greenford, Middlesex UB6 8PR is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant.

We are looking to appoint a committed professional with successful middle and senior leadership experience, to the role of Teaching Assistant at William Perkin CE High School.  William Perkin Church of England High School was opened in 2013 and is part of the Twyford Church of England Academies Trust. Its GCSE results in its first two years of exams placed it in the top 10 schools in the country in terms of progress and it has grown a large and flourishing sixth form. The school is founded on the successful systems and approaches of Twyford CE High School, with the principle difference that it is a distinctively Christian school with open admission criteria. The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (June 2015) and SIAMS (October 2016) and is oversubscribed on first choice applicants.

Teaching Assistants are required to support students in Years 7 – 11 with statements of Special Education Need, and to take the lead responsibility for students with learning and behavioural difficulties.

All applications are welcome however these roles may particularly suit graduates hoping to progress to School Direct teacher training. The Twyford Trust is the ‘hub’ for the Ealing Teaching School Alliance and is therefore extremely experienced in supporting training and development for beginning teachers, and new and experienced teachers at all stages of their career.

Roles are up to 35 hours per week however part-time applications can be considered, particularly for three or four days per week. Exact hours per week will be discussed and agreed at interview and the salary will therefore be a pro rata figure according to the hours worked.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Recent experience of working with secondary age children
  • A sensible attitude, with the ability to be flexible, reflective and find solutions
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • A commitment to the ethos of the school

We offer:

  • Excellent relationships within a strong team
  • On-the-job learning and development opportunities
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme

For more information about the role please see the Job Description on the Twyford Trust website at: https://twyfordacademies.org.uk/job-vacancies
