Description

High Halstow Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will provide impactful support for pupils, both on a 1:1 or small group basis, who need extra support in the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in our pupils' development. Pupils have access to many natural resources and a wonderful outside area to aid their development. You will be working in the classroom and implementing programmes of support designed specifically to meet the pupils’ needs.

We are ambitious for all of our pupils and believe that a Teaching Assistant working with our talented teaching staff will enhance pupil’s learning experience.  Our support staff ensure that they are well prepared and continuously develop themselves for the benefit of our pupils.  We are unrelenting and graciously uncompromising.

Ideally, you will already hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning and will share our vision to support pupils to make better than expected progress in their learning as a result of your support of their learning.

This is a fixed term opportunity for one academic year with the potential to become permanent thereafter.

Working with us: High Halstow Primary Academy is an over -subscribed one form entry village primary school. Pupils are hard working and respectful and parents and carers work closely with us to ensure our pupils receive the best opportunities.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is integral to our curriculum. We aim for our pupils to become well-rounded, lifelong learners and global citizens that are ready for secondary school and beyond.

The school is fortunate to have fantastic indoor and outdoor environments to enhance the learning opportunities for the pupils. Additionally, all KS1 and KS2 pupils have access to a 1:1 device which enables staff to further adapt teaching and learning experiences. The academy is an Ofsted Graded ‘good’ school with ambitions to be outstanding. Leigh Academies Trust provides outstanding opportunities for staff to work collaboratively as well as receiving high-quality professional development at all stages of the career journey.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of
1 September 2022, our Trust comprises 30 geographically organised academies (14 secondaries, 14 primaries and two special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust, you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together. You are supported to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.

Our commitment to safeguarding: Leigh Academies Trust and all of our academies are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process across all academies and business units which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates - you can read more about this in our Recruitment Guidance. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

Our commitment to equality and diversity: As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not discriminating on any grounds.
