Leigh Academy Rainham has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant (1:1) who will specifically be working with a student who has physical disabilities and will need supervision throughout the school day. The successful candidate will join our highly collaborative and supportive team from September 2023.
This role is ideal for those who genuinely have a passion for helping children, particularly with physical difficulties, and also a fantastic opportunity for those considering a career in Teaching to gain valuable first-hand experience. Candidates who are appointed will receive full support and training from colleagues and teachers. They will also be asked to support pupils at the end of the Academy day in Homework Club and may be required to run therapy sessions as part of students EHCPs, including dog mentoring sessions. They should be relatively confident using IT as will be provided a Chromebook to support students, access up to date information on individual students, log rewards and consequences and communicate with staff. This is a permanent opportunity working 35 hours per week (8.30am - 4.00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break), Term Time plus one week inset with an actual salary of £16,914 pa (£20,789 full time equivalent).
About Leigh Academy Rainham: In September 2021, we opened our doors to the 180 founding students of our co educational comprehensive school for 11-18 year olds.
Already oversubscribed, our new school is firmly set to be a beacon of excellence for secondary education in Medway.
