Description

Horsmonden Primary Academy has an exceptional opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join us as soon as possible. Becoming a member of the Horsmonden Primary team will enable you to work with like-minded colleagues who share your goals and ambitions. You will be part of a team that provides outstanding educational opportunities for all of our pupils through creative, carefully sequenced and highly effective lines of inquiry where all learners are at the very core of driving our curriculum.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to improve the provision for all children. You will be based in KS1 initially, but should be prepared to work across the entire primary phase. Experience of working with children in schools is essential. There may be times when you're needed to cover the class in the teacher's absence so experience of this is advantageous.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children. We are also looking for proven high standards of both spoken and written English and Mathematics. Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. Our newly appointed TA will be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.

The successful candidate will get to work with the wonderful children of Horsmonden and help them reach their full potential.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Knowledge and experience of working within KS1
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Creativity and passion for learning
  • A thirst for knowledge, high expectations and the ability to inspire and motivate children.
  • Dedication to the job and the skills to prioritise the needs of the children in their care.
  • Resilience and the ability to be solution-focused

The role offers an actual salary of £17,160 per annum (£22,714 full time equivalent) per annum based on 32.5 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week of inset. The role will be centred around supporting children’s learning and development in all aspects of school life, not only in class but during social times too.

We strongly recommend that you come to visit our setting so that you can see in action what an inspiring and purposeful environment it is, for both pupils and adults.

CALLING ALL GRADUATES! This role is ideal for recent Graduates who are looking to embark on Teacher Training. This role will provide you with first hand exposure to working in a school setting. If this is of interest to you, please include this in your supporting statement so that a member of the Talent Team can discuss it with you in more detail.
