21 hours per week • 37 weeks per academic year
We are looking to appoint a part-time Design & Technology and Textiles Technician to support our Textiles and D&T teams for 21 hours a week to work for 37 weeks per academic year to include the School term time (the work pattern is variable to suit the timetable and is currently being worked across 4 days, Monday to Thursday).
The role involves providing a proactive and efficient technician service which involves regular checks on the machines, preparing resources for lessons, ordering supplies and supporting within lessons, ensuring health and safety requirements are met at all times.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have qualifications relevant to D&T and Textiles, such as BTEC or A level or excellent GCSE grades or CREST gold award. It is essential that you have knowledge of and ability to use CAD software packages along with a good knowledge of workshop tools and machinery. You will also have excellent organisation skills and be able to work flexibly with a “can do” approach. Previous experience of working as a DT technician would be helpful but not essential as further training can be given.
