The site. Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill in north-west London and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 830 boys aged 13 to 18 study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding Houses. The role. Harrow School is seeking a Theatre Technician. The role occupies a vital place in the Drama and Theatre Department, assisting in the creation and realisation of high-quality productions across the academic year in collaboration with staff and pupils. The role will also engage with and support whole-School events taking place within the theatre. As part of the core Theatre Production team, under the leadership of the Production Manager, the technician will take on specific responsibility for a variety of tasks related to the design and realisation of sound and audio-visual elements for productions.
The skills. This role would suit a proactive, skilled technician who can work flexibly and creatively across a range of disciplines. They should have a relevant degree, technical theatre training, or appropriate professional qualifications, plus proven practical experience within a professional or school theatre environment. We are looking for an organised, methodical person who can prioritise tasks and work individually as well as part of a team. The role would suit someone with an eye for detail, who cares about upholding the production standards that give Harrow Drama a national reputation. They will be expected to adapt to and contribute to production work in a fast-paced environment. Enthusiasm for working with young people is essential, as is working as part of a supportive and friendly team. More information about the Drama Department can be found at:
