Oak Wood School is looking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Welfare Officer who will be responsible for providing first aid to children and adults in line with Health and Safety requirements and school protocols.

The successful candidate will be expected to administer medicines as required and decide on the appropriate course of action and provide administration support across the school. It is expected that applicants will be confident in dealing with external healthcare professionals, students, staff and pupils and have experience of working within a school or with young people. A first aid qualification would be an advantage or the successful applicant would be required to undertake the necessary qualification on appointment.

To be successful in this role you will be highly organised, confident, and have an ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality. You will need to be able to deal sensitively with a range of staff, have acute attention to detail and be able to work showing initiative.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education and proven experience of working in a busy environment. Previous experience of working in a school would be beneficial.
